The creation of this course took one year before it was presented and accepted by the Curriculum Committee. After much discussion and debate in my department, it was agreed that the course would concentrate on literature written by and for women. We hoped and did achieve to get the course up and running by FALL 2016; unfortunately, the Charlotte campus only had three people sign up.
It was agreed by our dean and our department chair that we try and design an online course. I have been working on the online course since August though it was not approved till late September. It is nearly mid-October and we are nearly done.
I hope this course will do well, so it can be taught from all campuses, and I truly hope it will provide an excellent forum for women from all over the country to learn, conceptualize, and appreciate the strides women have made in the past and the long journey we have ahead of us, so all women can live in a world of equality with respect and dignity.
